Thank you Brad. Recalling and recognizing the horrors too many are experiencing these days is so important. Like any epidemic, we must continue to fight and not forget. History has taught us the value of celebrating the thousands and the strength of their spirit.
Thank you, Brad, for showing us how to stand up for what we say we believe in. And thank you for introducing us to people whom whose suffering we might not even know without your sub stack. I hope to vote for you again some day.
Brad, it’s me, Omar. Thanks for doing what you always do and that is advocating for the people, the common folks and for the wellbeing of New Yorkers (both city and state), Americans and the people of our planet. Thanks for your decades-plus work in public service, especially your years in the NYC Council and as City Comptroller. And thanks for giving me an opportunity to volunteer in your mayoral campaign in the lead up to the spring primaries this past year. I learned a lot on the campaign trail and I especially enjoyed working with your campaign staff. While we didn’t achieve the ultimate goal of electing you mayor (but we did great electing Zohran Mamdani mayor in the general election), we did prevent the return of that corrupt sex pest menace Andrew Cuomo to public office. Please consider running for higher office in the near future (either for the House coming up, the US Senate in ‘28, or-if Democrats flip the White House-a cabinet position in a future Democratic presidential administration). Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to you and your family and others! We shall win more political battles in the near future!
Brad, thank you for your leadership and all are doing to bring attention to what is reallly happening at 26 Federal Plaza. You have consistently show up and have never waivered from this cause. And, I could not agree more with your post. It is vitally important to know who is working behind the scenes to help the assylum seekers. And yes, to have gratitude.
Respectfully, I would also like to acknowledge the Photojournalists who have been covering ICE's activity at 26 Federal Plaza since May/June 2025. David "Dee" Delgado (Reuters), Carol Guzy (a 4 time Pulitzer Prize winner) each have an images featured in Time Magazine's Top 100 Photos of 2025. Dean Moses of AM New York, Victor Blue, Madison Swart, Erica Lanser, Videographer Sandi Bachom (age 80!), and many, many others.
The majority of major networks or newspapers are not covering this story. And sadly, most members of the public don't understand the role of the Photojournalist. Most don't know that these photographers are not at the Courts on assignment. There is hardly such a thing as a staff photographer any longer. Nor are they papparazzi trying to make a quick buck off the suffering of others.
They have been censored and oft accused by young volunteer court observers of being opportunistic, of "revictimizing" people. I have photographed at the Courts briefly myself. One day I heard a volunteer attorney tell photographers, "That's enough-you've got your shots." Worse, they have also been threatened with arrest and some even physically assaulted by ICE. Just yesterday, photographers were pepper-sprayed by the NYPD on Canal Street.
These photographers return day after day on their own dime because they are compelled to bear witness, to humanize the individuals and families who are being traumatized by ICE. And, many work with families outside of Court to document their daily lives (going to Church, attorney visits, throwing a birthday party, face-time with their incarcerated loved one, etc). Others are seeking out ICE's activities outside of the courts-and not just on Canal Street.
Now, with the ubiquity of AI and erosion of the public trust in the media, the TRUTH is more important than ever. These images can and will change hearts and minds. They will be integral to activating members of the public to stand up against ICE and speak out against the cruel policies that compel them. They will help us to never forget.
I’ve recently been musing on the sad parallels between Israeli actions in the West Bank and the settlement - colonization - of the Americas. You may have to educate us on the thankful side of these.
Israel does not, has not and will not commit genocide.
Hamas took the billions of dollars of aid that was given to them in Gaza, and built terror networks and tunnels so that they could invade and commit barbarian acts against the citizens of Israel. They purposely put their own people in dangerous positions so that they could say-"look how bad Israel is".
There is not a democratic country that is run by Moslems---NOT ONE! But still, everyone loves to throw accusations against Israel. How should Israel have reacted to gang rapes, infant strangulation, burning families alive, and kidnapping of men, women and children? What is the proper response????????? Leaving Hamas in place to do it again???
How dare you accuse Israel of genocide when it is clearly the barbarianism of the Arab world that is the problem.

Well said, Brad.
